Ines Talbi - voix, glockenspielI'm a french canadian girl. Yes, I sing and write in english. I'm not the first, I'm not the last, I'm not the only. I do it cause I love Dolly Parton and Leonard Cohen, and certain english people I know more personally. I was raised by devoted christian parents. I was trained as a pianist, but gave it up when I was 10. I'm a trained flamenco dancer, but life tore me away from it. I was a goth teen. I used to own a white horse named Leggy, but I sold it to study litterature. I studied playwriting very recently. I am bored very often, overly excited just as often. I don't know what to think of that, really. Lousy Zoo project started in my bedroom a year ago when I first grabbed a guitar and tried to strum. Many songs have been written since that night, and there are more to come. I'm inspired by very few things. Mostly downers. You'll come across the word «loneliness» a lot in my lyrics. Certain people I've met should be named, as inspiration. Yet, they aren't, for the sake of privacy. Certain colours, too : black, red. Certain emotions : sadness. Certain states of mind : hopelessness and fear. And of course, certain animals : dogs and horses and all the others that may be found in a lousy zoo. Yes, this is a wee bit ironic. I'm building this musical zoo with all its imperfection, its simplicity, its dirt, its failures, its lack of diversity and skill. I build it on and on. Cause you know... although I'm inspired by few things, mostly downers, I'm singing and strumming this lousy zoo project with all the hope in the world. Cause music is the star that shines and guides, that glitters and glows, the star which light may be pale sometimes, but always is there, in the dark night's sky. Yes, this is a wee bit ironic.
